Any celebrity, ever.

Here’s why — these authors are HUGE. Gigantic. Epic.

And while it may seem like these authors came out of nowhere, that’s total BS.

Rachel Hollis had a following in the Christian market. And gals who go to church? They buy a lot of books. Like others before her, Rachel figured out how to reach a niche audience, win fans there and then leverage that fanbase to reach the mainstream. Just like Taylor Swift did with country music.

Mark Manson had a substantial email list and wasn’t afraid to put F*ck in his title before anyone else. And frankly, what could have been smoke, mirrors and marketing is actually a terrific book. Mark is a content marketing machine, which is why I think he’s been so successful.

Elizabeth Gilbert is a terrific fiction writer and teacher who had a lot of friends and goodwill in the book industry — which is why Eat, Pray, Love got published in the first place. (Her fiction IS fabulous.) Then she hit on a feeling that a lot of middle-aged women (notorious book buyers) shared and voila, she won the writers’…
