When I met Natalie Nixon, she had already written two books — an academic book on design thinking and a book on creativity with a small but reputable publisher.

And she was ready to get a real deal — with a household-name publisher, preferably for six-figures. All she needed was a little help on her book proposal.

But success in traditional publishing is not that easy. And I knew that, so I told her.

In order for her to land the book deal she wanted, she would have to grow.

Her last book? Needed to sell more copies.

Her speaking engagements? Needed to double.

And her ideas? Needed to be drilled down into soundbites.

In essence — she wasn’t ready yet.

In front of my eyes on Zoom, I saw Natalie’s face go from excitement to surprise to disbelief in about five seconds.

But as I started to share why I thought the way I did — information that I’ll also share with you in Book Deal Bootcamp — I helped Natalie to understand what she was up against.

Using my expertise as a guide, Natalie began refining her ideas and finding opportunities to test what she wanted to write her next book about. Within a year, she went from accepting every speaking invitation…
