I Get Writers Block, Too.

All around me, women were scribbling, pausing to think, chewing on their pens.

I was in my client’s house. A fancy house. Surrounded by entrepreneurial women — the most I had ever met at one time in my life. I was the most accomplished writer in the room. Everyone had been asking me about book deals and platforms all weekend.

But I was sitting there, stumped, with a sudden case of writers’ block.

My client Rachel Rodgers — who is a kickass business coach in addition to being an author and speaker — had given us her (trademarked!) Million Dollar Badass Quarterly Planner. There were spaces for projects and action items, along with blocks below to keep track of performance indicators like leads, revenue and profit.

At this point, I’d run my business for seven years, successfully. But I hadn’t tracked any of this shit. I felt intimidated and scared, and just . . . sort of stuck.

Rachel’s promise is to help female entrepreneurs — especially female entrepreneurs of color — scale from six to seven figures in their businesses. And though I believed wholeheartedly in her mission (and still do) I still had so much to learn and to put into practice. And that felt intimidating AF.

When I got home from the mastermind, I took another long look at the planner.
