Lose Weight While Training for a Marathon (or Half Marathon)

For real. I’m doing it.

When I first created my training plan for the Berlin Marathon, it totally freaked me out.

I started to doubt myself.

Can I handle running on back-to-back days?

What if I get hurt?

Where in San Francisco am I going to find 18 pancake-flat miles? Twice?

Before I totally hit a panic spiral, I slowed myself down.

One of the big side benefits of being a ghostwriter is getting to learn from authors, experts and entrepreneurs.

Specializing in self-help and personal growth like I do also gives me a TON of mindfulness practices to call on when I’m feeling uncertain.

I got curious — why was this particular marathon freaking me out?

I did well last year at a marathon distance, even though I didn’t make my PR goal.

I like training for marathons — or at least I have in the past.

What was going on this time that made me feel different?

I zeroed in on my weight.

I felt heavy.

Running is basically propelling yourself into the air over and over again.
