Stop Watching Webinars

Seriously.

If you are the type of person who has access to a bunch of free webinars sitting in your inbox, I want you to delete those emails.

Here’s why: I find that my authors have two modes: learning and doing.

Learning is super important. If you try to take action before you really understand something, you will likely miss the mark. For example, I had a client draft the copy for her opt-ins before she really understood what readers would be opting into. Because of that, the content was inappropriate and she had to start over from scratch.

By jumping right into doing mode she ended up slowing down how long it took to develop her opt-in. BUT she ended up with extra copy that she might be able to use somewhere else in her business. So it wasn’t entirely a waste of her time.

What IS entirely wasted time, however, is staying in the learning stage while you ought to be taking action. I see this a lot — people will sign up to chat with me, agree to work together, and then balk, saying that they need to “learn” more. But that’s not really true, because the process of working with me IS about learning.

So that’s really just an excuse to stay stuck. To not take action on your dreams.
